This Summer we are launching BoommFest, Festival of Youth! Following on from the YOLO Youth Survey, the festival aims to give young people living in Marsh and Micklefield the opportunity to have new experiences and show us what is important to them. For more details, and to book activities go to Events and Whats On at the top of this page and click on the BoommFest tab or visit Hills Cafe on Micklefield Road.
The Marsh & Micklefield Big Local is one of 150 projects across Englandto be given at least £1m to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their communities. It’s about bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live.
At a local level in Wycombe Marsh and Micklefield the programme is managed by the Marsh and Micklefield Big Local Partnership – a group of residents and supportive people from other local organisations. The partnership has consulted with the wider community and produced a community plan which identifies three main areas of focus.
1. Improve Community Cohesion 2. Raise Aspiration for all 3. Enhance Educational Engagement
The Community Investment Fund is an initiative by Marsh and Micklefield Big Local to encourage and support groups and projects which benefit the residents of Marsh and/or Micklefield. We do this by awarding grants where we consider that the activities will make a positive, lasting difference.
We look to support a wide range of projects that fit in with our objectives of improving community cohesion, raising aspiration for all and enhancing educational engagement.
Funding is available from £500 to £10,000.
Applications are considered three times each year. Any applications received after the closing date will be considered in the next round of applications.
September – closing date for applications is 31st August
January – closing date for application is 31st December
May – closing date for applications is 30th April
Marsh and Micklefield Big Local also operate a Community Chest Grant scheme for smaller grants up to £500, which unlike the Community Investment Fund applications, are considered as and when received.
